Accident at Local Fitness Studio: No Injuries Reported
In an unexpected turn of events, a Mercedes GLC hybrid car crashed into a building housing a popular fitness studio at the corner of Neuhauser Straße and Schützen Straße around 1 pm today. Fortunately, no one working out was injured in the incident.
The 58-year-old driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, apparently suffered a medical emergency during the drive, causing the accident. The car's front is now stuck in the wall of the building.
Upon hearing a loud bang, an employee on the scene rushed to the training room. Thankfully, no one was training in the area where the car is currently lodged.
Firefighters from Tuttlingen and Liptingen were quick to respond, stabilizing the building to pull the car out. Due to the risk of fire from the hybrid car, the fire department also set up fire protection measures.
A specialist advisor from the Liptingen colleagues was called in to assess the building's risk of collapse. The damage to the building is estimated at around 100,000 euros, while the car, completely destroyed, is estimated to have cost around 40,000 euros in damage.
Once the necessary support is in place, the car will be securely attached to a tow truck and slowly pulled out of the wall. The hole in the wall will be sealed later.
Police are currently investigating the accident. The fitness studio will be closed on Thursday to allow for necessary repairs.
Despite the incident, the popular area near the wall, where machines for training legs and buttocks are located, remains a hub of activity for fitness enthusiasts. The community is hoping for a swift resolution to the situation, allowing them to return to their workouts as soon as possible.
